Olividae – Ancillariinae: Amalda petterdi (Tate, 1893) (‘spindle-shaped olive’)

Synonym(s): petterdi Tate, 1893 gaza Iredale, 1924.

Typical shell-length 25 mm. Lives subtidally and offshore on sand and mud. Native. Endemic to southern and eastern Australia (QLD, NSW, TAS, VIC and SA). In Tasmanian waters, this is a rare species largely confined to the N coast.
