Marginellidae – Marginellinae: Volvarina diminuta (Laseron, 1957) (‘tiny margin-shell’)

Synonym(s): diminuta Laseron, 1957.
Typical shell-length 3.4 mm. Lives in offshore waters. Native. Occurs in eastern, western and northern Australia (QLD, TAS, WA and NT). In Tasmanian waters, this species is currently known only from a single record (unverified by SG) offshore from the west coast; however, it may refer to a different species since Tasmania is well beyond the normal range for this species.
