Typical shell-length 60 mm. Has previously been considered a synonym of Mitra glabra, but this now seems unlikely. Lives subtidally amongst rocks and seaweed. Native. Endemic to southern Australia (TAS, VIC, SA and WA). In Tasmanian waters, this is a rare species, with the few available records all from the N.
