Muricidae – Muricopsinae: Favartia (Murexiella) brazieri (Angas, 1878) (‘Brazier’s murex’)

Synonym(s): brazieri Angas, 1877 tumidus Petterd, 1884.
Typical shell-length 10 mm. Lives subtidally amongst rocks and seaweed. Native. Endemic to southeastern and southwestern Australia (QLD, NSW, TAS, VIC, SA and WA). In Tasmanian waters, this is a rare species, probably confined to the N coast and Bass Strait islands.
