Acanthochitonidae – Acanthochitoninae: Acanthochitona retrojecta (Pilsbry, 1894) (‘tapered chiton’)
Synonym(s): retrojecta Pilsbry, 1894 rhodeus Pilsbry, 1893.
Typical shell-length 30 mm. Lives intertidally on rocks. Native. Endemic to southeastern Australia (NSW, TAS, VIC and SA). In Tasmanian waters, this species has been recorded from Flinders Island.
