Fissurellidae – Fissurellinae: Amblychilepas omicron (Crosse & P. Fischer, 1864) (‘omicron keyhole-limpet’)

Synonym(s): omicron Crosse & Fischer, 1864.

Typical shell-length 13 mm. As with all keyhole-limpets, the shell sits atop a much larger animal. Lives subtidally and offshore attached to stones and the shells of living molluscs. Native. Endemic to southeastern Australia (TAS, VIC and SA). In Tasmanian waters, this species is currently known only from a single record (unverified by SG) from the northwest coast.
