Anomiidae – Anomiinae: Anomia trigonopsis Hutton, 1877 (‘angled jingle-shell’)

Synonym(s): trigonopsis Hutton, 1877 cytaeum Hutton, 1873 electus Hutton, 1873 walteri Hector, 1877 huttoni Suter, 1913 undata Suter, 1913 poculifera Marshall, 1918 descripta Iredale, 1936.

Typical shell-length 50 mm. Lives subtidally and offshore attached to rocks by a shelly plug that occupies a hole in the left valve. Native. Occurs in southeastern and southwestern Australia (QLD, NSW, TAS, VIC, SA and WA); also New Zealand.
