Tateidae: Ascorhis tasmanica (Martens, 1858) (‘Tasmanian hydrobia’)

Typical shell-length 3.6 mm. Lives intertidally on mud in sheltered lagoons and inlets. Native. Endemic to southern and eastern Australia (QLD, NSW, TAS, VIC and SA). In Tasmanian waters, this is a widespread and sometimes abundant species.
