Marginellidae – Marginellinae: Austroginella johnstoni (Petterd, 1884) (‘Johnston’s margin-shell’)
Synonym(s): johnstoni Petterd, 1884 minor Tate & May, 1901.
Typical shell-length 8.0 mm. Resembles a diminutive A. muscaria. Lives intertidally in sand on moderately exposed beaches. Native. Endemic to southeastern Australia (NSW, TAS, VIC and SA). In Tasmanian waters, this species is found primarily along the E and NE coast, where it can be common.
