Marginellidae – Marginellinae: Austroginella tasmanica (Tenison-Woods, 1876) (‘Tasmanian margin-shell’)

Synonym(s): tasmanica Tenison-Woods, 1876.

Typical shell-length 8.0 mm. Shell spire relatively elongate; pale-coloured. Lives intertidally in sand on moderately exposed beaches. Native. Endemic to southeastern Australia (NSW, TAS and VIC). In Tasmanian waters, this species is primarily found along the E and NE coast, where it can be common.
