Costellariidae: Austromitra tasmanica (Tenison-Woods, 1876) (‘Tasmanian ribbed-mitre’)
Synonym(s): tasmanica Tenison-Woods, 1876 cericosta Laseron, 1951 bassiana Gabriel, 1962 bucklandi Gabriel, 1962.
Typical shell-length 18 mm. Always relatively elongated, ribbed and not strongly coloured compared to most forms of A. analogica. Lives subtidally amongst rocks and seaweed. Native. Endemic to southeastern Australia (NSW, TAS and VIC). In Tasmanian waters, this is an uncommon but widespread species, most likely to be encountered in the SE.
