Cranchiidae – Taoniinae: Bathothauma lyromma Chun, 1906 (‘lyre cranch-squid’)

Synonym(s): lyromma Chun, 1906.

Typical mantle-length 150 mm. Lives in offshore waters. Native. Occurs in eastern Australia (QLD, NSW and TAS); also elsewhere in tropical and temperate seas of both hemispheres. In Tasmanian waters, this species is currently known from a single record well offshore to the south.
