Muricidae – Haustrinae: Bedeva paivae (Crosse, 1864) (‘mussel drill’)

Typical shell-length 25 mm. Lives intertidally amongst rocks and seaweed, especially on very sheltered shores. Native. Endemic to southeastern and southwestern Australia (TAS, VIC, SA and WA). In Tasmanian waters, this is a widespread species; commonly beached.
