Brachioteuthidae: Brachioteuthis linkovskyi (Lipinski, 2001) (‘Linkovsky’s arm-squid’)

Synonym(s): linkovskyi Lipinski, 2001.

Typical mantle-length not yet determined. Lives in offshore waters in midwater. Native. Occurs in southeastern Australia (TAS and perhaps other states); also the Southern Ocean. In Tasmanian waters, this species has been recorded as beak(s) recovered from the guts of beached whale(s).
