Brachioteuthidae: Brachioteuthis riisei (Steenstrup, 1882) (‘common arm-squid’)

Synonym(s): riisei Steenstrup, 1882 clovei Rochebrune, 1884 gracilis Pfeffer, 1884 nympha Pfeffer, 1884 velainei Rochebrune, 1884 alicei Joubin, 1900.

Typical mantle-length 60 mm. Lives in offshore waters in midwater Native. Occurs in eastern Australia (QLD, NSW, TAS and VIC); also the Southern Ocean.
