Typical shell-length 13 mm. Shell surface with spiral ribs. Lives subtidally and offshore on sponges and bryozoans in sandy areas. Native. Endemic to southeastern Australia (NSW, TAS, VIC and SA). In Tasmanian waters, this is a widespread species but seldom beached; most likely to be found in the N.
