Veneridae – Callocardiinae: Callista (Striacallista) diemenensis (Hanley, 1844) (‘Tasmanian callista’)

Typical shell-length 35 mm. Lives subtidally in sand in moderately exposed environments. Native. Endemic to southeastern Australia (NSW, TAS, VIC and SA). In Tasmanian waters, this is a widespread and often common species.
