
Cavoliniidae: Cavolinia inflexa (Lesueur, 1813) (‘inflexed sea-butterfly’)
Synonym(s): inflexa Lesueur, 1813.
Typical shell-length 7.0 mm. Lives in offshore waters in midwater. Native. Occurs all around Australia (QLD, NSW, TAS, VIC, SA, WA and NT); also widespread in warmer oceanic waters worldwide. There are as yet no confirmed records of this species in Tasmanian waters, although its presence here would not be surprising.
