Chamidae: Chama aperella Lamarck, 1819 (‘brooch jewel-box’)

Synonym(s): asperella Lamarck, 1819 fibula Reeve, 1846 hendersoni Dall, Bartsch & Rehder, 1938.

Typical shell-length 30 mm. Lives subtidally atttached to stones and the shells of living molluscs. Native. Occurs in eastern, western and northern Australia (WA, NT, QLD, NSW, TAS and VIC); also elsewhere in the Indo-West Pacific.
