Muricidae – Muricinae: Chicoreus (Triplex) denudatus (Perry, 1811) (‘denuded murex’)

Synonym(s): denudatus Perry, 1811 frondosa Perry, 1811 australis Quoy & Gaimard, 1833 palmiferus Sowerby, 1841 extraneus Iredale, 1936 immunitus Iredale, 1936.

Typical shell-length 50 mm. Lives subtidally amongst rocks and seaweed. Native. Endemic to southern and eastern Australia (QLD, NSW, TAS, VIC and SA).
