Synonym(s): sicula Vérany, 1851 fimbriatus Appellöf, 1889 cyprinoides Joubin, 1894 neuroptera Jatta, 1896.
Typical mantle-length 80 mm. Lives in offshore waters in midwater. Native. Endemic to eastern Australia (QLD, NSW, TAS and VIC).
