Corbulidae – Corbulinae: Corbula (Varicorbula) smithiana Brazier, 1880 (‘Smith’s basket-shell’)
Synonym(s): smithiana Brazier, 1880 coxi Pilsbry, 1897 flindersi Cotton, 1930.
Typical shell-length 15 mm. Lives subtidally in sand and mud. Native. Endemic to northern, eastern and southern Australia (NT, QLD, NSW, TAS, VIC and SA). In Tasmanian waters, this is a rare species; scattered records from the N coast and Flinders Island.
