Ranellidae – Cymatiinae: Cymatiella eburnea (Reeve, 1844) (‘pink-tipped rock-whelk’)
Synonym(s): eburnea Reeve, 1844 lesueuri Iredale, 1929.
Typical shell-length 20 mm. Finer sculpturing and consistently paler colouration (with or without pink apex) help distinguish this species from S. verrucosa. Lives subtidally amongst rocks and seaweed. Native. Endemic to southeastern Australia (TAS, VIC and SA). In Tasmanian waters, this is a widespread and common species.
