Eatoniellidae: Eatoniella (Eatoniella) atropurpurea (Frauenfeld, 1867) (‘dark-purple eaton-shell’)

Synonym(s): atropurpurea Frauenfeld, 1867 purpureostoma May, 1919 aethiopia Laseron, 1950 fusca Laseron, 1950 minutocrassa Ponder, 1965.

Typical shell-length 1.1 mm. Lives intertidally and subtidally amongst rocks and seaweed. Native. Occurs in southeastern and southwestern Australia (QLD, NSW, TAS, VIC, SA and WA); also New Zealand and elsewhere in the southwest Pacific Ocean.
