Typical shell-length 20 mm. Lives subtidally and offshore in sand. Native. Occurs in southern and eastern Australia (QLD, NSW, TAS, VIC and SA); also New Zealand. In Tasmanian waters, this is an uncommon but widespread species, most likely to be encountered in the SE.
