Chaetodermatidae: Falcidens chiastos Scheltema, 1989 (‘x-marked aplacophoran’)

Synonym(s): chiastos Scheltema, 1989 targotegulatus Salvini-Plawen, 1992.

Typical body-length 12 mm. Lives subtidally and offshore in sand and mud. Native. Endemic to southeastern Australia (TAS and VIC). In Tasmanian waters, this species has been recorded from the Huon Estuary.
