Typical shell-length 40 mm. Lives subtidally and offshore embedded in hard sediments such as compacted mud and soft rock, living within a crypt lined with shelly material and with only the siphons extending via shelly tubes. Native. Endemic to southern and eastern Australia (QLD, NSW, TAS, VIC and SA).
