Octopodidae – Bathypolypodinae: Grimpella thaumastocheir Robson, 1928 (‘velvet octopus’)

Synonym(s): thaumastocheir Robson, 1928.

Typical body-length 200 mm. Lives in offshore waters. Native. Endemic to southeastern and southwestern Australia (NSW, TAS, VIC, SA and WA). In Tasmanian waters, this species occurs well offshore, with the single available record from off the west coast.
