Histioteuthidae: Histioteuthis bonnellii (Férussac, 1834) (‘Bonnelli’s jewel-squid’)

Synonym(s): bonnellii Férrussac, 1834.

Typical mantle-length 300 mm. Lives in offshore waters in midwater. Native. Occurs in southeastern and southwestern Australia (NSW, TAS and WA); also widespread in the warm temperate zones of both hemispheres.
