Ischnochitonidae – Ischnochitoninae: Ischnochiton (Ischnochiton) contractus (Reeve, 1847) (‘shortened chiton’)

Synonym(s): contractus Reeve, 1847.
Typical shell-length 45 mm. Lives intertidally and subtidally under rocks and stones, especially those resting on sand. Native. Endemic to southeastern and southwestern Australia (TAS, VIC, SA and WA).
