Ischnochitonidae – Ischnochitoninae: Ischnochiton (Haploplax) smaragdinus (Angas, 1867) (’emerald chiton’)

Synonym(s): smaragdinus Angas, 1867 resplendens Bednall & Matthews, 1906.
Typical shell-length 36 mm. Lives intertidally and subtidally under rocks and stones, especially those embedded in sand. Native. Endemic to southeastern and southwestern Australia (NSW, TAS, VIC, SA and WA).
