Ischnochitonidae – Ischnochitoninae: Ischnochiton (Ischnochiton) variegatus (H. Adams & Angas, 1864) (‘variegated chiton’)

Synonym(s): variegatus H. Adams & Angas, 1864 atkinsoni Iredale & May, 1916 bruniensis Ashby, 1927.
Typical shell-length 30 mm. Lives intertidally and subtidally under rocks and stones, especially on the lower shore. Native. Endemic to southeastern and southwestern Australia (TAS, VIC, SA and WA).
