Marginellidae – Marginellinae: Mesoginella pygmaeoides (Singleton, 1937) (‘pygmy margin-shell’)

Synonym(s): pygmaeoides Singleton, 1937.

Typical shell-length 6.0 mm. Colour varies from off-white to orange. Lives subtidally in sand and under rocks, in moderately exposed environments. Native. Endemic to southeastern Australia (TAS and VIC). In Tasmanian waters, this is a widespread and common species, but often overlooked because of its small size.
