Synonym(s): cumingianus Reeve, 1857 ulmus Iredale, 1936.
Typical shell-length 35 mm. Lives subtidally and offshore amongst rocks and seaweed. Native. Occurs in eastern, western and northern Australia (NT, QLD, NSW, TAS, VIC and WA); also elsewhere in the Indo-West Pacific. In Tasmanian waters, this species has been recorded primarily from Bass Strait
