Lottiidae – Lottiinae: Notoacmea alta W. R. B. Oliver, 1926 (‘tall limpet’)

Synonym(s): alta Oliver, 1926 subundulata auct. (non Angas, 1865) corrosa Oliver, 1926.

Typical shell-length 8.0 mm. Small, dark, steep-sided shell, often with heavily eroded apex. Underside with dark centre and broadly dark margin. Lives intertidally atttached to rocks and the shells of living molluscs, especially on sheltered, even muddy, shores. Native. Endemic to southeastern Australia (NSW, TAS, VIC and SA). In Tasmanian waters, this is a widespread and locally common species.
