Lottiidae – Lottiinae: Notoacmea corrodenda (May, 1920) (‘corroding limpet’)

Synonym(s): corrodenda May, 1920.

Typical shell-length 15 mm. Apex of shell usually heavily eroded. Underside white with interrupted dark margin. Lives intertidally attached to rocks, especially on exposed shores. Native. Endemic to southeastern Australia (TAS and VIC). In Tasmanian waters, this is a widespread species but seldom common.
