Acanthochitonidae – Acanthochitoninae: Notoplax costata (H. Adams & Angas, 1864) (‘ribbed chiton’)

Synonym(s): costata A. Adams & Angas, 1864 tasmanica Iredale & Hull, 1925.
Typical shell-length 30 mm. Lives intertidally and subtidally amongst sponges, on which it feeds. Native. Endemic to southeastern and southwestern Australia (NSW, TAS, VIC, SA and WA).
