Tonnidae – Oocorythinae: Oocorys sulcata P. Fischer, 1884 (‘furrowed false-tun’)
Synonym(s): sulcata Fischer, 1883.
Typical shell-length 55 mm. Lives in offshore waters on mud at great depths. Native. Occurs all around Australia (QLD, NSW, TAS, VIC, SA, WA and NT); also widespread in the Atlantic, Pacific and Indian Oceans. In Tasmanian waters, this species has so far only been recorded from NE Bass Strait and off the E coast.
