Ellobiidae – Pythiinae: Pleuroloba quoyi (H. Adams & A. Adams, 1854) (‘Quoy’s air-breather’)

Synonym(s): quoyi H. Adams & A. Adams, 1854 tetricus Morelet, 1864 irregularis Mousson, 1869 minor Mousson, 1869.
Typical shell-length 17 mm. Lives high on the shore amongst strand-line debris in sheltered environments. Native. Endemic to eastern Australia (QLD, NSW, TAS and VIC). In Tasmanian waters, this is a rare species, apparently confined to the NW coast.
