Trochidae – Cantharidinae: Prothalotia pulcherrima (W. Wood, 1828) (‘pretty kelp-shell’)

Synonym(s): pulcherrima Wood, 1828.
Typical shell-length 16 mm. Lives intertidally and subtidally. Native. Endemic to southeastern and southwestern Australia (TAS, VIC, SA and WA). In Tasmanian waters, this species is currently known only from a single record (unverified by SG) from the southeast coast; however, it may refer to a different species since Tasmania is well beyond the normal range for this species.
