Tellinidae – Arcopagiinae: Pseudarcopagia decora (Reeve, 1853) (‘Victorian tellin’)

Synonym(s): decussata Lamarck, 1818 (non Wood, 1815) decora Reeve, 1853 victoriae Gatliff & Gabriel, 1914.
Typical shell-length 50 mm. A larger and more solidly built shell than P. botanica, with coarser radial striation. Lives subtidally amongst rocks and seaweed, especially in moderately exposed environments. Native. Endemic to southeastern Australia (TAS, VIC and SA). In Tasmanian waters, this species is quite common on the N coast and around the Bass Strait islands; rare or absent further S.
