Mytilidae: Rhomboidella radians (Suter, 1908) (‘radiant mussel’)

Synonym(s): radians Suter, 1908 rhyllensis Gatliff & Gabriel, 1912 concava Cotton, 1931.
Typical shell-length 3 mm. Shell dark purplish-brown and coarsely radially ribbed, but surface often radiant to pale purplish-brown, especially towards centre. Lives subtidally and offshore. Native. Endemic to southeastern and southwestern Australia (TAS, VIC, SA and WA).
