Ranellidae – Cymatiinae: Sassia parkinsonia (Perry, 1811) (‘Parkinson’s rock-whelk’)
Synonym(s): parkinsonia Perry, 1811 basilica Iredale, 1924.
Typical shell-length 45 mm. Lives subtidally amongst rocks and seaweed. Native. Endemic to southeastern Australia (NSW, TAS and VIC). In Tasmanian waters, this is an uncommon species, largely confined to the E coast.
