Typical mantle-length 450 mm. Lives in inshore waters in midwater. Native. Endemic to southeastern and southwestern Australia (QLD, NSW, TAS, VIC, SA and WA). In Tasmanian waters, this is a widespread and common species, and commonly targeted by fishermen.
