Polyceridae – Nembrothinae: Tambja verconis (Basedow & Hedley, 1905) (‘Verco’s sea-slug’)

Synonym(s): verconis Basedow & Hedley, 1905.
Typical body-length 120 mm. Lives subtidally and offshore on bryozoans, specifically the green bryozoan Bugula dentata, on which it feeds. Native. Occurs in southeastern and southwestern Australia (NSW, TAS, VIC, SA and WA); also New Zealand. In Tasmanian waters it is likely that this will prove to be a widespread species.
