Siliquariidae – Siliquariinae: Tenagodus weldii Tenison-Woods, 1876 (‘Weld’s worm-shell’)

Synonym(s): weldii Tenison-Woods, 1876.
Typical shell-length 20 mm. Lives subtidally and offshore embedded in sponges. Native. Occurs in southeastern and southwestern Australia (NSW, TAS, VIC, SA and WA); also New Zealand. In Tasmanian waters, this is a widespread species, but generally rare as a beached shell.
