Skeneidae: Zalipais inscripta (Tate, 1899) (‘inscribed false-top-shell’)
Synonym(s): inscripta Tate, 1899 lissum Suter, 1908 laseroni Kershaw, 1955.
Typical shell-length 25 mm. Beached shells often worn to white; fresh shells are mottled brown. Similar in shape to Cancellaria spirata, but lacks columellar folds. Lives subtidally on sand. Native. Endemic to southeastern Australia (NSW, TAS and VIC). In Tasmanian waters, this is a rare species largely confined to the NE coast.
